History

When Barney Shine founded Shine Electronics in 1984, Northern Berkshire County was faced with the closing of the Sprague Electric Company, the area’s largest employer. The impact of 4,000 people losing their jobs was tremendous. Barney’s goal was clear: keep people working. His vision and dedication helped to create a major distribution and manufacturing company that is indeed investing in people and the local community.
Today, Shine Electronics is known as Shine Wire Products, Inc. The company now has two business units: distribution and manufacturing. We are proud to serve the needs of a diverse customer base in each of these areas.

Our distribution division is authorized to sell the brands of the industry’s top manufacturers of wire and cable. Our world-class manufacturing division specializes in custom cable assembly, wire harnessing and electronic/electro-mechanical assembly.
